Meet Soma Saha – The Soul Behind Indofiesta

Before Indofiesta was born, there was a long journey of inner quest.
What if the answers we seek for tomorrow are rooted in the ancient ways we have overlooked today?

At Indofiesta, we’re not here to relive the past—we’re here to remember it. To weave it into the fabric of modern life, where growth meets ancient wisdom, and evolution walks hand-in-hand with memories traced in our DNA.

In the quiet pulse of Himalayan villages and the enduring spirit of the Indus Valley, Soma Saha discovered not just inspiration—but a remembering of responsibility.

In the timeless landscapes where the echoes of the Indus Valley Civilization still whisper through earth and craft, Soma found her purpose—not through commerce, but through a deep-rooted connection to Prakriti and the methodologies of Science.

Her journey began not in boardrooms, but in ancestral villages of Dehradun and among indigenous living traditions—staying in mud houses, breathing the essence of the soil, listening to the chantings, the chirping of birds, the song of dry leaves, and observing grandparents’ skilled hands that have preserved regenerative ways of life for millennia.

What began as a passion for designing for Turkey’s fashion industry in 2005 quietly transformed into an organic living lifestyle. From overseeing bridal couture in the UK to managing fashion accessory lines for Spain, and designing garments for buying houses in France, Soma directed global design narratives—crafting not merely products, but expressions of culture and continuity.

Early childhood exposure to Himalayan culture and Shamanic practices inclined her towards indigenous wisdom. Her true metamorphosis unfolded upon her return to the Indus Valley, where she immersed herself in the rhythms of indigenous life. Over two decades, she led community-centric R&D in hand embroidery, natural dyeing, organic cotton, and tribal wellness innovations—collaborating with Himalayan farmers, forest-based artisans, and women-led self-help collectives. Each engagement was a step deeper into what she now calls designing with the land.

Her work with bamboo, jute, and heritage processes became more than sustainability—it became resurgence. From setting up jute units and wellness product lines to developing bamboo prototypes for partners in the UAE and Europe, Soma has consistently redefined what it means to create in harmony with nature and community.

In 2014, she began an experiment for mental health—workshops such as Joy of Giving for children and Travel Sketching for adults. These were not mere workshops, but pathways to express and explore our inner quest. Over time, they evolved into experiential tourism in Himalayan villages, and Indofiesta retreats became an extension of these workshops, grounded in profound inner wisdom.

Her successful experiments made her a natural researcher and published author. Her writings span climate resilience, food as medicine, indigenous healing, ESG, and cultural empowerment. These aren’t academic exercises—they are living reflections from the ground, merging with nature’s intelligence.

Under Indofiesta, Soma now channels over 20 years of global design expertise and grassroots innovation into immersive retreats, rural innovation labs, and biophilic structures—from regenerative research centers and eco-village developments to folk music residencies and community-led healing spaces.

Indofiesta is not a brand. It is Soma Saha’s offering to the timeless continuum of culture, community, and consciousness—a quiet remembering of a civilization that once thrived not through dominance, but through wisdom.

Today, she takes a quantum leap by promoting regenerative and biophilic design principles for people and planetary health, rooted in indigenous wisdom.
